About the game

A point-and-click detective comedy from a small town on the Moravian–Slovak border. Two days before the festival the tower clock stops, the town radio speaks at night and a scientist vanishes. Everyone has a comfortable explanation. Play as Radek or Irena and check it.

Záhoří nad Vlárou is a classic point-and-click adventure with hand-drawn-style locations, dialogue fully voiced in ten languages and puzzles you solve with your head, not your reflexes.

Two days before the town festival, the clock on the tower stops, the public address system speaks at night in a voice that has no business being there, and the hydrogeologist staying at the hotel never turns up for her meeting with the mayor. The town already has a comfortable version: she simply drove across the border in the night. Nobody checked. You will.

Each hero has a complete campaign. They reach the same findings by different routes and through different people, and each keeps separate saves, so the second playthrough is a new conversation with the same town.

Nothing breaks, nobody takes offence and trying things pays off. A wrong answer never locks a puzzle: the people around you tell you why it does not add up. And if you try the same thing twice, Radek and Irena will have something to say about it.

The bus driver ignores orders. The receptionist opens a guest's room only with explicit consent. Half the town has a version of events ready. Listen, compare, check the records, and find out which story holds when somebody finally checks it.

AI disclosure

Záhoří nad Vlárou was made by one developer with the help of generative AI tools. Everything listed here was created during development, selected and reviewed by the developer, and ships unchanged; the game generates no AI content while you play.

Voices: all spoken dialogue in the ten dubs (Czech, English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Korean) is synthetic speech created with ElevenLabs (Eleven v4) using voices from the ElevenLabs Voice Library: one voice per character, cast by ear and kept the same in every language. No real person's voice was cloned by us.

Music and sound: the 48 music pieces were generated with Eleven Music (ElevenLabs) from per-location briefs, then cut into seamless loops and mixed by the developer. Most sound effects were generated with ElevenLabs Sound Effects; interface sounds are synthesised in code.

Art: the location illustrations, the town map and the character portraits started as AI-generated concept art (OpenAI image generation) and were cut out and upscaled (Real-ESRGAN) by the developer's own tools; the characters appear as static cut-out standees. Four inventory objects were generated with FLUX.1-schnell. The store key art and covers were also generated with OpenAI image generation; the logo lettering is set in code from the game's fonts. Documents, photos, the interface and the puzzles are made in code.

Text: all translations (English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean) were produced with AI assistance from the Czech original and reviewed by the developer. AI tools were also used throughout development to help refine the story and dialogue, polish the art and write and test the game code; the story, characters and every final decision are the developer's.
