Radek Šotek
the town's PA technician
“I'll fix it.”
Fixes everything — temporarily at first, then with conviction. He knows everyone he grew up with, and they all know him. Which is both an advantage and a problem.

A hand-drawn-style detective adventure
The Borders of Common Sense
A small town on the Moravian–Slovak border. At night the public address system speaks in the voice of a man who has been dead for eight years, the tower clock stops, and the hydrogeologist from the hotel never turns up for her meeting. The town has a comfortable explanation ready. Nobody has checked it.

Case file no. 1 · two days before the festival
Záhoří nad Vlárou is the kind of town where everybody knows everybody — which is exactly why nobody asks questions. The festival is tomorrow, the mayor wants a “silence test”, and Radek Šotek, the town's PA technician, is running the last test announcement. The very last one.
Then the loudspeakers on the square play a voice that has no business being there. Radek knows it far too well: it belongs to a man who has been dead for eight years. At the same moment, the tower clock stops.
By morning, the hydrogeologist staying at the Two Times Hotel is missing as well. According to the town, she simply drove across the border in the night. It is a comfortable version. Captain Irena Ostrá does not care for comfortable versions.
A minute from the prologue. No spoilers, fully voiced in English, subtitles burned in.
Five minutes of the prologue and both heroes' first steps, recorded straight from the game.
Each has their own campaign, their own saves and their own way to the truth. They reach the same findings through different people — and with different amounts of patience.

“I'll verify it.”
She once believed a convincing photo. Not a second time. She will verify anything — with consent, statements and records, in that order.
Two separate campaigns, two views of one town.
How it ends depends on what you verify. And whom you believe.
The town has plenty of small worries. Some are small only at first glance.
Plus mini-games. Solved with your head, not your reflexes — nothing breaks, nobody takes offence.
From the town hall and the Halfway House pub to places people usually avoid.
